Old Town Discovery 119
The Discovery 119 is a superb solo open canoe and is normally paddled using a single bladed canoe paddle, however it is possible to use a double bladed kayak paddle should you prefer. The Old Town Discovery 119 has always ben a popular model and delivers a smooth, stable ride that gives the solo canoe paddler plenty of confidence on the water.
Made from triple layer polyethylene the Discovery 119 delivers great strength and durability while still remaining light enough for one person to handle off the water easily. Indeed one of the most attractive features of this little canoe is the fact that it can be car topped onto a roofrack with ease by one person alone and comes at a lot lower price than a composite canoe. The central layer of this material is a foam core that means should you tip over your Discovery 119, it will still stay at the surface making it a lot easier to recover.
