| Hobie i9s The Hobie i9S combines the convenience of an inflatable with the levels of performance usually only available with a rigid hull kayak. The i9S is the smallest, shortest and lightest kayak in Hobie’s inflatable range making it perfect for trips away where space is an issue. Transported in its own wheeled storage bag, the i9S is easy to get to and from the car and water. Just because the i9S is an inflatable does not mean it is light on features either. The three chamber design combining drop stitch technology in the floor makes an extremely tough and rigid design. This stiffness translates to superb handling and speed on the water when combined with Hobie’s unique Mirage Drive system that allows you to not only paddle your kayak, but also pedal it. There is even the option of adding a sailing kit for a completely different kayaking experience. |

Hobie Mirage Drive System The Hobie Mirage Drive System is a simple yet very effective system. It allows you to use your legs to move the kayak forwards and backwards without using your arms. You can use the rudder to turn. The Mirage Drive is removable, quiet and produces no splashing. It mimics a penguin’s flippers to create momentum which enables the kayak to move. |
