Minn Kota Riptide
The Minn Kota Riptide electric outboard motor is designed specifically for saltwater use, but can still be used on fresh water. The Riptide range of electric outboard motors feature advanced corrosion protection using premium grade alloys that are impervious to rust unlike the fresh water motors which are not recommended for salt water use. The Minn Kota Riptide transom mounting motors are available with thrust levels ranging from 40 - 80lbs & can be mounted on square stern boats or using a Motor Mount for open canoes.
Minn Kota's innovative Maximiser Technology is standard with the 55 & 80 models providing up to five times longer on a single battery charge maximising your time on the water. These Minn Kota Riptide Electric Outboard Motors are great for fishing trips, canoes or as an auxiliary for tenders in saltwater, perfect for around the Norfolk coast and Norfolk Broads.
The Minn Kota Riptide engine has extra large windings & commuters which result in extended battery life and longer motor life. The Riptide also has a unique barring system which produces low rpms/high torque to cut down on noise. The shaft of the motor is made from an ultra high, yield composite which will flex on impact and return to its original shape. The motor handle is a 6" telescopic handle for greater comfort and control.
On the Riptide 40 the Power Prop (propeller) delivers extra power to push through heavy vegetation, while on the Riptide 55 & 80 they come supplied with the Weedless Wedge 2 which passes through the thick stuff at any speed without battery-draining or any chopping and hacking. All Minn Kota Electric Outboard Motors come with a standard three year warranty.
