Buoyant, Stiff And Lightweight Freestyle/Playboating Paddle

The VE Aircore Pro is a lightweight, buoyant and incredibly stiff playboating and freestyle paddle with a full carbon fibre construction. Providing immediate power it's the ideal paddle for picking up speed out of eddies and getting into the surf, as well as offering great feedback when performing supporting or control strokes. This is also ideal for initiating freestyle moves such as the double pump, loop or cartwheel.

The large blades are constructed of 100% carbon fibre which is heat compressed and pre-impregnated with resin, this ensures all the carbon fibres are saturated with resin for maximum durability whilst keeping excess resin to a minimum to keep the weight low. VE's Aircore spine runs along the back of the blade adding stiffness and buoyancy like that of a foam cored paddle. By using a hollow core VE have been able to reduce the weight of their blades by up to 30% in comparison to a similar foam cored blade. Thanks to this weight saving VE have added additional reinforcement fibres to the blades for not only a lighter but stiffer blade.

The Aircore pro can be constructed with either a 1 or 2 piece shaft. The 1 piece shaft is available in a carbon straight shaft or carbon cranked (bent) shaft, both offer great stiffness which translates to power into the water. The carbon straight shaft has been ground and waxed for a comfortable in the hand feel, with an ovalised section at either end which lets you know when the paddle is in its ideal hand position. The ergonomic carbon cranked shaft has been designed to align your wrists, elbows and shoulders to be in a more comfortable and more natural positioning. The specific grip geometry helps to reduce the need to grip tightly while the ergonomic cranked shape helps to reduce the risk of repetitive strain style injuries.

The 2 piece shaft option is either constructed with a carbon straight shaft or a glass straight shaft, the carbon shaft being slightly lighter and stiffer than its glass version. The mid section of these 2 piece paddles is a heavy duty aluminium adjustment ferrule, this is an easy to use fastener which uses a flick lever to secure. Not only can the 2 piece paddle be split in 2 to fit more easily inside a boat or car but the adjustable ferrule can be used to fully adjust the angle. The angle has indications up to 60 degrees, and the length adjustment within a ranges of up to 10cm.
