The Old Town Heron 9 XT is a lightweight, short touring kayak that offers great on the water stability. A well defined bow entry line allows the Heron 9 XT to track well through the water while the flatter mid section of the hull provides stability to make most paddlers feel confident.

The Heron 9 XT comes feature packed so you never feel like you are in a recreational or entry level kayak. A comfortable, well padded Comfort Flex seating system offers an adjustable backrest for a prime paddling position. Thigh pads and adjustable footrests allow for a comfortable lock-in to get better drive out of your paddle stroke, but with a minimal feel of being enclosed in the cockpit. This along with the slightly larger cockpit means paddlers who might have a fear of being trapped in a kayak can still paddle a well performing, stable touring kayak. A rear QuickSeal oval storage hatch with bulkhead provides ample storage for your dry bagged gear, while a bottle holder in the front of the seat and front mounted paddle park keeps the important things close to hand. Solid front & rear carry handles make car topping or moving the lightweight Heron 9 XT to the water a simple task. A couple of fitted flush mounted rear rod holders come as standard with this kayak for those wishing to do a little light fishing, but if that's not your thing they don't get in the way either.
