The Old Town Saranac 146 & 160 Canadian Canoes are ideal canoes for those starting out on the water. The Saranac is a little wider than many other models of canoe and this combined with slightly lower seats produces an easy to paddle, more stable canoe.  Combined with the extremely comfortable, padded seats with adjustable backrests, these simple design features make the Old Town Saranac a very popular choice for recreational paddling.

Thought has been put into paddler comfort and the seat backs fitted to all Saranac’s enhance the paddling experience. Not designed for raging white water but ideal for a relaxing day out on some of the UK’s most beautiful inland waters.

The Saranac 160 is a proper two plus one canoe (2 adult size paddlers and a smaller paddler) whereas the Saranac 146 can be paddled tandem or solo. Even with the third centre seat, there is ample room for dry bags stuffed full with camping gear and anything else you choose to take along on the voyage.
