The Swift Cirrus 14.6 a beautiful lightweight open solo canoe, designed as a versatile well round canoe for paddlers who want a canoe that is not only easy to move around between portages and car topping but also that ticks all the boxes when out on the water. With a 2.5" bow rocker, shallow arch bottom and rounded lower chine the Swift Canoes Cirrus 14.6 has the ability to be healed over and quickly manoeuvre turns. This is helped by Swift having carried the widest point of the freeboard, or the lower edge of the tumblehome higher up, this enables a super comfortable paddling position. The rear of the Cirrus has 1.5" of rocker to ensure for a lovely efficient cruising style feel when using this canoe on touring trips where you want to cover some distance and holding a line is important. Using a range of paddles is not even out of the question with the Cirrus, suiting a traditional straight shafted open canoe paddle but also being perfect for use in a switch & hit style with a bent shaft canoe paddle or sat more upright with a longer length double bladed kayak paddle. A custom spec 'd carbon footbar would make the later 2 paddle styles even better as it would allow for more of the stroke to be translated into forwards momentum.

Normally a boat offering all of this ability would offer less stability however this is not the case in the Cirrus, Swift have ensured stability remains to allow a range of paddler to get in this lightweight canoe. Newer paddlers should get that confidence inspiring, comfortable feeling, being able to grow and develop into the canoe, while experienced paddlers will be able to jump right in and push the Cirrus 14.6 using all of its well rounded features to get the canoe over on edge and utilising its well weighted trim level. Our UK standard spec of Swift Canoes is based on the current most popular laminate Kevlar Fusion. With the best strength to weight ratio it sees the Cirrus 14.6 weigh in at only 12.7kgs! This really makes for a quick and easy portage, loading on and off roofracks or generally moving around off the water. Kevlar Fusion lightweight canoes are made with a Urethane Resin System for high durability as well as longevity, this goes along with a thin layer of exterior gel coat. Swift Canoes hulls are constructed of an exterior layer of Polyester, S-Glass and Kevlar Cloth Layers this sandwich a durable foam cored rib & base structure. The Kevlar Fusion Laminate is then fused together with a high impact, flexible Urethane Acrylate Resin which is injected during Swift Canoes high pressure infusion process produces for the optimal dispersion and ideal laminate consistency. Based on a laminate construction, Kevlar Fusion is the most popular lightweight material as it offers great abrasion as well as impact resistance. Swift lightweight Canoes come in some simply stunning finishes which gives them a brilliant look on and off the water, especially with a 2 tone Champagne hull colour scheme. Swift Canoes have spent a lot of time developing the UV shield that comes on all their hulls in any construction, this is to protect hulls even further, this also reduces the impact of UV on the laminate material, it also reduces the weight slightly on previous incarnations of Swift Canoes as well. The UV shield adds some scratch resistance, meaning that while scratches will still appear slightly visible initially, after an application of some 303 aerospace protectant (not included) they are much less visible and scratches are then protected. Scratches are still far less of a worry on Swift Canoes than any other laminate canoes, this is due to the infusion process which protects the laminate and doesn't require repair should scratches occur, which is likely in any canoe. Don't forget as with any laminate boat, a single application of 303 Aerospace protectant will only last for a couple of trips so it will need to be reapplied regularly to keep that new look.

Swift have one of the best Gunwales/Trims in the world, a Carbon Kevlar Trim makes a Swift Canoe unique with a manufacture process that enables Swift to infuse the Kevlar Fusion canoe hull and Carbon Kevlar gunwales as one structural part. This makes a super strong and rigid bond between the hull of the canoe and gunwale/trim increasing performance.
