The Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 is a pedal drive sit on top kayak with a very efficient, stable, hull. Its double-U shaped hull is not only great for making it super stable but it is also a highly manoeuvrable pedal drive sit on top kayak thanks to its rudder system. This rudder system is perfect for keeping your hands free while out on the water.


The Sportsman PDL 106 has been designed to be stable while still maintaining a fine entry line aiding to its efficiency through the water. Thanks to Old Towns Award Winning PDL Pedal Drive system, it has a prop shaft and propeller to drive the kayak along with a cycle style pedal motion for either forwards or reverse without the need to adjust the drive. The Easy-Docking system makes deploying the PDL drive system quick and simple, allowing for the drive to be lifted in shallow waters. The PDL drive system also comes with a sealed storage area on the rear of the drive which when sealed also acts as buoyancy meaning even if the drive system end up in the water away from the Sportsman PDL 106 it will still float. To steer the Sportsman PDL 106 is simple, a lever to the right hand side of the seating position deploys or retracts the rudder which can be easily operated with the hand steering controls to the left hand side of the cockpit.


Old Town send the Sportsman PDL 106 packed with features including a forward facing flush mounted rod holder that is perfectly placed for changing lures or landing fish, while two rear facing flush mount rod holders allow for easy trolling, keeping your fishing lines away from the drive. Thanks to 2 x 18” accessory rails placed either side of the cockpit mounting additional rod holders, camera mounts etc couldn't be simpler. A dedicated transducer mounting area just in front of the pedal drive keeps your fishfinder transducer and wiring safe. There is plenty of storage on the Sportsman PDL 106, a large rear storage tank with bungee's over, a large oval front hatch and a rectangle hatch just behind the seat make loading this pedal drive kayak easy. A couple of mesh style pockets either side of the cockpit make keeping important things close to hand. Old Town have even made use of under the seat adding a mesh shelf perfect for keeping a tackle tray. A cup holder to the side of the seating position allows you to stay hydrated when out on a long days paddling.


The Sportsman PDL 106 comes with the element metal framed seating system, its easy adjust backrest allows for the ideal recline angle to keep you comfortable when pedaling. Constructed from a mesh material for added ventilation & drainage, along with a lightweight aluminium frame to keep you raised up off the deck of the kayak. Running on a track system you can adjust the position of the Element seat to suit your leg length, reducing or increasing the distance to the PDL drive system.
