P&H Virgo

A Short & Compact Sea Kayak

The P&H Virgo is a compact, lightweight plastic sea kayak that is both tough and durable. Being around 14.5ft in length it is the perfect length for a day or weekend tripping sea kayak that can also be used for touring on fresh local waters. This compact, short and lightweight nature help make the Virgo be extremely easy to manage off the water and doesn't impact its ability on the water. The minimum rocker helps keep the Virgo tracking well in a range of conditions while its hard chines enable good manoeuvrability when edging and can also be carved on a wave for even more playful fun.

Available in Corelite X is a lighter weight triple layer foam cored construction which offers a stiffer, lighter weight option that is slightly more performance orientated. Both constructions of the Virgo come with a drop down skeg system which when deployed make the kayak come alive out on open waters. To control the skeg deployment and retraction or level of skeg in use the skeg controller is cleverly placed to the front of the cockpit, this is out of the way to ensure no hand clashes during your paddle strokes.

All Virgo sea kayaks are outfitted with the same great comfortable seating system with a buckle pull adjustable backband, hip pads, aggressive but comfortable thigh braces and adjustable foot pegs. To the top side of the hull you get enough storage to stow all your weekend gear in the form of a well sized rear oval hatch with bulkhead and a forward day hatch just to the front of the cockpit area, as well as a front bulkheaded round hatched storage area. The LV and MV Virgo comes with 3 hatches while the HV Virgo get the addition of a 4th round day hatch just to the rear of the seat - Please note this is for the HV (High Volume) model only. Deck lines and deck bungee's are there for any on deck storage you might require when loading up for the weekend, these are also coloured different so in a rescue situation it is easy to differentiate.
