Fast Efficient & Lightweight Hobie Mirage Pedal Drive Kayak

Hobie Lynx is the latest edition to the Hobie Kayaks line up. The Lynx brings a completely new hull design and super lightweight construction, while keeping the brilliantly designed and well-loved Mirage Pedal Drive. The Lynx has a fast and efficient kayak that is brilliantly agile as well.

Hobie have constructed the Lynx hull from Ace-tec a material that is not only lightweight but durable too. At only 21.32kgs the Lynx is easy to car top and move around but the Ace-tec material makes it able to cope with the regular demands of kayak fishing or touring around light costal waters, river, lakes and broads.

The Lynx comes equipped with some of the best features that are super simple to use. Hobie have designed the rear of the Lynx hull to allow the easily removable rudder system to have a maximum range of movement so the Lynx is not only quick but agile too. The Rudder is quick to detach from the hull and mesh seat where the steering handle is located, thanks to the quick release nature you can mount the steering on either side of the seat. Hobie have even given the Lynx a simple but efficient and easy to use up and down haul to allow you to raise and lower the rudder from the seat position - this is also removable with the rudder system. The raised mesh seat is comfortable to sit in for a day on the water, it has backrest angle adjustment and is also quick to attach and detach from the Lynx hull.

Naturally a Hobie Kayak wouldn't be a Hobie Kayak without the best pedal drive on the market, so Hobie send the Lynx with the Mirage 180 V2 pedal drive with glide tech and ST kick up fins. This Mirage drive not only has the ability with the pull of a lever to take the kayak from forward gear to reverse, but it also has kick up fins allowing worry free pedalling safe in the knowledge that should the fins hit an object you didn't see under the water they will kick up out of the way to help reduce the chances of damaging the fins and drive. As always the pedals on the Mirage drive are easy to adjust for all paddlers leg lengths with the use of a push button on the top of the crank arms.

The Lynx features don't end there either! Front and rear bungee storage areas on the deck side of the hull along with an EVA standing deck pad to help with grip when standing up. The Lynx also has a fish finder ready transducer hull cavity if you wanted to easily mount a fish finder. Finally Hobie had added two forward flush mounted accessory tracks perfect for mounting any other accessories you want.
