The Swift Cruiser 12.8 is one of, if not the lightest and shortest Pack Boats in the Swift Canoes range. With a very straight keel to the rear of the Cruiser 12.8 which has minimal 1" rocker to the stern allowing a skeg like hull shape to enable great straight line tracking, in the bow of the boat Swift have given 2" of rocker and great amounts of flare to ensure the nose of the Cruiser can rise and fall over small chop and push waves away to the side while still feeling stable and super comfortable on the water. Suiting a smaller or averaged sized paddler that is wanting a brilliant day paddling boat with a carrying capacity that is large enough for gear if a long weekend trek is required. Tumble home (rounding of the top side of the hull) has been positioned perfectly in the mid of the Cruiser 12.8 along with a bent gunwale which allows the paddler to have an easier unrestricted kayak paddle stroke, removing the feeling of having to reach over a high sided gunwale to get to the water. The Swift Canoes Cruiser 12.8 has been brilliantly equipped, using a Cherry Wood oiled interior finish for the thwarts and handles that Swift Canoes put in all their pack boats as standard. The super comfortable high backed Pack Seating System has been designed by Swift for the ultimate on the water comfort while paddling. Featuring the specifically shaped carbon fibre seat base made in house by Swift Canoes after many years of R&D which has really really paid off. Fitting a wide range or posteriors, the comfort comes from the padding which is inch thick medical grade foam produced to enhance blood flow, this ensures hassle free Pack Boat paddling for as long as the water lasts. Swift have ensured the backrest strap is able to flow through the backrest without restricting its movement, this has given the backrest the ability to twist with the the paddlers body rotation created by each paddle stroke. Swift didn't stop their either they then developed a backrest adjustable lumbar support, this cushion can be moved up and down the backrest ensuring the paddler gets support exactly where is needed. The whole of the seat base pad and backrest is then covered in a super pliable and soft mesh foam that allows water to drain right through it, while the ripstop nylon over material is comfortable against your back. To give the best lock into the Cruiser 12.8 Swift Canoes use a simple yet sturdy slide lock adjustable foot peg system to allow for paddlers to brace when paddling, these pegs can be moved on the water with no problems to really keep you comfortable all day.

Swift Canoes Kevlar Fusion construction laminate is the most popular material in the Swift Canoes range of super lightweight canoe materials. Offering the best strength to weight ratio of any of the laminate material. Kevlar Fusion Pack Boats like the Cruiser 12.8 are made as standard with a urethane resin system for top durability and longevity along with a thin layer of exterior UV shield. The hull is constructed of an exterior layer of polyester as well as S-Glass and Kevlar cloth layers these sandwich a durable foam cored ribbing structure. The laminate is fused together with a high impact and flexible urethane acrylate resin system injected during high pressure infusion process producing the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency. Based on a laminate material construction Kevlar Fusion is the most popular material as it offers great abrasion and impact resistance. All Swift Pack Boats can be finished in some wonderful colours emerald, ruby, carbon innegra H-weave and sapphire are all have the colour in the cloth meaning it ca not be scratched away when launching and landing and it gives them a real vibrant exterior look especially with a 2 tone hull colour scheme. Other colours are available to special order however these 'special finishes' are normally achieved with a gel coat which can show signs of wear over time. Swift Canoes have a superb UV shield that they use on all their current hull constructions. This adds a higher level of protection than ever before as well as better scratch resistance - which all laminate canoe owners desire to keep their boats looking as good as new. The UV shield not only helps to reduce the impact of the sun/uv rays on Swift Canoe hulls it has also allows Swift to reduce the weight of the boat even further. This same UV shield adds a scratch resistance to the Cruiser 12.8 hull, while scratches will initially still be visible, after applying a coating of spray on, wipe off, 303 aerospace protectant to the hull scratches are much less visible - if visible at all. Scratches and scrapes are far less of a concern on Swift Canoe hull, thanks to the laminate being impregnated with their resin system, which means the construction material of any Swift hull is never exposed meaning it is not vital to repair a Swift Hull, unlike other brands using gel coat to protect their laminates, which means if the gel coat cracks it need repairing. Don't forget as with all laminate boat, a single application of 303 aerospace protectant will only give that shiny look for a couple of trips, to keep that new shiny look re-application will be required.
