The Swift Prospector 13 lightweight canoe is a scaled down version of the super popular Prospector 14. Aimed at average and smaller sized paddlers wanting a canoe that is easy to control and can be used for day trips, afternoons fishing or photography as well as being loaded up for a weekend camping trip. Designed for both a traditional style of paddling with the canoe heeled over on edge, but also perfectly at home being sat level with feet forwards the Prospector 13 is perfect for all paddling styles and is sure to keep you comfortable.

Thanks to its moderate width and medium volume symmetrical hull shape the Swift Canoes Prospector 13 offers a top level of on the water performance feeling sleek and efficient when driving through the water. Its shallow arch hull with 1" of rocker each end ensure that you also get a nimble feel on the water being able to effortlessly spin the canoe when needed. Ample tumblehome ensures that no matter your paddle style you never feel like you are having to reach far over the gunwale which gives a much easier paddle stroke and allows you to keep the paddle perpendicular to the canoe for longer extending the time your paddle is in the drive phase for.

These super lightweight Swift Canoes are some of the lightest and most durable boats in the world. The UK standard spec for Swift Canoes is in their most popular laminate Kevlar Fusion, this offers the best strength to weight ratio and sees the Prospector 13 weigh in at only 11.79kgs which really does make it a delight to portage, car top and generally move around on and off the water. Kevlar Fusion lightweight canoes are made with a urethane resin system for top level durability and longevity along with a thin layer of exterior gel coat. These hulls are constructed of an exterior layer of polyester as well as S-Glass and Kevlar cloth layers which sandwich a durable foam cored ribbing system. The laminate fused together with the high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin system injected during high pressure infusion process produces the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency. Based on a laminate material construction Kevlar Fusion is the most popular material thanks to it offering great abrasion and impact resistance. These lightweight open canoes can be finished in some fantastic colours which gives them a brilliant exterior look, especially with a 2 tone champagne hull colour scheme. Swift Canoes now have a UV shield that they use on all their current hulls! This adds even better protection and better scratch resistance. This UV shield helps to reduce the impact of the sun/uv on all Swift canoes laminates as well as allowing them to reduce the overall canoes weight slightly. The UV shield adds scratch resistance to the hull, while scratches will initially still be visible, after some applying a coating of spray on and wipe off 303 aerospace protectant to the hull, scratches are much less visible - if visible at all. Scratches are far less of a concern on any Swift Canoe due to the laminate being impregnated with the resin, this means the laminate material of a Swift hull is never exposed with a need for repair, unlike other brands using laminates for construction. Don't forget as with any laminate boat, a single application of 303 aerospace protectant will only last for a couple of trips so to keep that new shiny look re-application is required.

The Prospector 13 being made from the superbly lightweight Kevlar Fusion laminate needs a trim level that not only looks as good but is also light and tough as well. The Carbon Kevlar Trim makes a Swift Canoe one of the lightest Canoes out there, using their unique manufacture process it enables Swift to infuse the Kevlar Fusion canoe hull and gunwales as one, this makes the bond between the hull and trim for added strength and rigidity.
