The Swift Canoes Keewaydin 15 is a super lightweight solo open canoe that has the best balance of comfort, performance, weight saving and strength. Designed with a shallow arch hull that has an asymmetrical hull shape. This gives the bow 2" of rocker to allowing the Keewaydin 15 solo to deal with chop by rising up and over it, while the stern of the canoe has 1" of rocker which acts much like a skeg to help with the overall tracking. The shallow arch and moderate width gives paddlers who like to take more of a seated positioning when paddling a stable feeling. The enhanced tumblehome to the freeboard right in the mid of the canoe gives a super responsive feel and increased performance when the Keewaydin is heeled over, this also allows paddlers to not feel as though they are reaching over the side of a high freeboard in order to get to their paddle to water.     

Designed for use on multi-day trips or just getting out on the water for a few hours. Swift have outfitted the Keewaydin 15 with the well loved contoured canoe seat which is constructed from cherry wood with durable yet comfortable nylon webbing which is perfect for keeping the paddler happy while out on the water. The seat is mounted on side pods as a pose to regular wooden seat droppers, this gives the Keewaydin 15 added stiffness from the seats rigidity and ensures no annoying seat hanging kit breakages. The rest of the outfitting is matched superbly using oiled cherry handles at the bow and stern as well as oiled cherry wooden thwarts. Additional items such as a carbon stand up assist bar, removable carrying yoke, carbon foot bar, etc can be added when custom spec'ing a Keewaydin 15 but are not included as standard. 

The standard UK construction for the Swift Keewaydin 15 solo is Kevlar Fusion this is a super lightweight option. This popular laminate offers the best strength to weight ratio and gives a unbelievable weight at only 13.15kgs which really does make it an easy portage, car top or move to and from the water. Lightweight Kevlar Fusion canoes are made with a urethane resin system for top level durability and longevity along with a thin layer of exterior gel coat. These hulls are constructed of an exterior layer of polyester with S-Glass and Kevlar cloth layers that sandwich a durable foam cored ribbing system. The laminate fused together with the high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin system injected during high pressure infusion process produces the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency. Based laminate materials & constructions Kevlar Fusion is the most popular material that is able to offer great abrasion and impact resistance. These lightweight open canoes can be finished in some fantastic colours or cloths which gives them a brilliant exterior look, especially when coupled up with a 2 tone champagne hull.

 Swift Canoes have developed a UV shield top layer that they use on all their current hulls! This adds even better protection and better scratch resistance. The UV shield helps to reduce the impact of the sun/UV on all Swift canoes laminates as well as allowing them to reduce the canoes weight slightly. The UV shield adds scratch resistance to the hull, while scratches will initially still be visible, after applying a coating of spray on and wipe off 303 aerospace protectant to the hull, scratches are much less visible - if visible at all. Scratches are far less of a concern on any Swift Canoe due to the laminate being impregnated with the resin during construction, which means the laminate material of a Swift hull is never exposed with a need for repair, unlike some other brands using laminates for construction. Don't forget as with any laminate boat, a single application of 303 aerospace protectant will only last for a couple of trips so to keep that new shiny look re-application is required.

The Carbon Kevlar Trim makes a Swift Canoe one of the lightest Canoes out there, using their unique manufacture process it enables Swift to infuse the Kevlar Fusion canoe hull and gunwales as one. This in turn makes a bond between the hull and trim which is great for providing added strength and rigidity. These stunning looking Carbon Kevlar gunwales are maintenance free, meaning the Keewaydin 15 is easy to deal with on and off the water.
