The Swift Canoe Prospector 14 hull is the go too multi-purpose hull, with a high carry capacity it is well suited to a wide range of larger or taller paddlers allowing them to feel confident on the water. Retaining the traditional looks of the well loved Prospector shape canoes thanks to it rounded chine area, however Swift have added some very aggressive tumblehome, this ensures a much easier paddle action making sure the paddler does not feel as though they are reaching over the gunwale in order to get to the water, this minimises the risk of clashing paddles and fingers with the gunwales. Thanks to the overall capacity of the Prospector 14 Pack it allows larger paddlers to not need to worry about what they pack when they are carrying some kit on extended weekend trips. The lower centre of gravity that the Swift Canoe Pack Seat offers in the Prospector 14 Pack makes it great for any paddlers looking to fish or do some photography when on the water.

Thanks to the shorter very manageable length of 14ft the Prospector 14 Pack is easy to move around both on and off the water. When in the water it tracks well in a straight line and when being used with a longer length kayak paddle (which is what we recommend) you can really cover some distance quickly and comfortably. When paddlers get more confident with the stability of the Prospector 14 it can offer great manoeuvrability by edging/heeling the hull over a little.

The Prospector 14 Pack as standard comes outfitted with Cherry Wood handles & thwarts as well as the fantastic Carbon Pack Seat. The Swift Pack Seat is constructed on a carbon seat base with a medical grade foam used on the seat base pad and backrest. The backrest has been designed with easy to use recline angle adjust and to twist/rotate with the movement of a kayak paddle, this keeps the paddler supported throughout all of their time on the water. As standard the Prospector 14 Pack comes with adjustable footrests allowing the paddler to get a good lock into the boat ensuring they can drive the paddle on. The seat is perfectly placed in the hull with plenty of forward leg space, to the rear of the seating position is a large area perfect for stowing gear. Some paddlers even have enough room up front to take a dog out on the water with them as well. When car topping the Prospector 14 Pack the backrest folds flat to ensure that the seat doesn't get in the way of mounting on roofbars and stays securely out of the way when traveling.

Swift Canoes offer a range of brilliant lightweight materials and trim options. Kevlar Fusion is the most popular material in their range of laminates. It offers the best strength to weight ratio of any laminate Pack Boat material. Kevlar Fusion boats are made with a urethane resin system for top durability and longevity along with a thin layer of exterior gel coat. The hull is constructed of an exterior layer of polyester as well as S-Glass and kevlar cloth layers sandwiching a durable foam cored ribbing system. The laminate fused together with a high impact and flexible urethane acrylate resin system injected during high pressure infusion process produces an optimal dispersion and laminate consistency. Based on a laminate material construction Kevlar Fusion is a popular material as it offers great abrasion and impact resistance.

Swift Canoes have now developed a brilliant UV shield that they use on all their current hulls for even better protection, an even lighter finish and added levels of scratch resistance. This UV shield helps to reduce the impact of the sun/uv on the Swift canoes laminates as well as allowing them to reduce the overall hull weight slightly too. The UV shield adds some scratch resistance to the hull, meaning while scratches will initially still be visible, after some 303 aerospace protectant being applied to the hull, scratches are much less visible - if visible at all. Scratches are far less of a concern on a Swift Canoe anyway due to them being impregnated with the resin meaning the laminate material of a Swift hull is never exposed and doesn't require repair unlike other brands using laminates. Don't forget as with any laminate boat, a single application of 303 aerospace protectant will only last for a couple of trips. These Swift Canoes can be finished in some stunning finishes giving them a real vibrant exterior look especially with a 2 tone hull.

The Carbon Kevlar Gunwale or Trim not only makes a Swift Canoes Prospector 14 Pack one of the lightest Pack Boats on the market, but also using their unique manufacture process enables them to infuse the canoe style hull and gunwales all as a single piece, making a bond between the hull and trim increase hull stiffness and performance. This stunning looking Carbon Kevlar trim is maintenance free meaning this boat is easy on and off the water.
