The Delta Kayaks 17 the ultimate performance based touring & sea kayak built for paddlers wanting to paddle lakes, lochs and broads as well as on some light seas. This kayak is well balanced allowing paddlers to keep great cruising speed on longer expeditions but also to deal with some slightly trickier surf conditions as well. Constructed from a lightweight thermoformed plastic the Delta Kayaks 17 has a weight of only 22.6kgs which, for such a long kayak makes it much easier to handle off the water ensuring lifting and loading on to roof racks is far less challenging.
Whilst one of the main attractions of Thermoformed kayaks is the weight saving, thermoformed kayaks also look stunning with really sleek lines. This construction material also allows for added hull stiffness, which is an important factor in performance based expedition style kayaks like the Delta Kayaks 17, and that stiffness is certainly noticeable when paddling this boat.
Fitted with adjustable foot rests and Delta Kayaks Elevate Contour seating system it’s easy to get great connectivity. The easy adjust backrest has height and angle adjustment to provide the back support needed. The seat base has been fitted with a leg lifter for improved kayak connectivity, ensuring keeping the paddlers thighs into the thigh braces that are moulded into the cockpit rim is more comfortable and give the best control. Drainage and airflow channels run throughout the seat keeping the paddler comfortable during those warm days out on the water. All these great features make for an incredibly comfortable and efficient seating area. The entire seat base can adjust within the Delta Kayaks 17, this would allow space for for paddlers with longer legs as well as being able to trim this kayak on fully laden adventures.
A retractable skeg comes as standard and is superb for keeping the Delta Kayaks 17 tracking straight when paddling adverse conditions, its easy to use and adjust thanks to a locking jam cleat located to the left side of the cockpit.Bow & Stern bungee paddle parks are easy to quickly stow paddles when entering or exiting the Delta Kayaks 17 or even when just taking a break on the water. Two large press lock hard shell storage hatches with securing over bungee's make for quick and easy loading of gear while an easy access smaller day hatch just in front of the cockpit is ideal for smaller items that need to be closer to hand. All the hatches are colour matched to the deck keeping the flow of the sleek looking design. Bow and stern carry handles are bungee loaded to ensure they do not flap around when paddling or on the roof of the car.

Delta Kayaks Hip Pad Kit
This hip pad kit has been designed to work specifically with Delta Kayaks and their contour seating system, it allows the paddler to get the best connection to the kayak. Ensuring you get a snug fit in the cockpit gives the paddler much better control of the kayak when doing more technical paddle strokes and bracing the kayak.
Containing: 2 x moulded side supports & 4 x foam shims. The Foam shims are supplied to fill any gaps between the paddlers hips and the Delta Kayaks Contour Seat pillars.
