Old Town Guide 147 and 160
If you are a beginner looking for a reliable Canadian canoe then look no further than the Old Town Guide. Available in two sizes, both the Guide 147 and 160 allow you to take to the water with confidence.
You soon get to grips with the easy paddling, comfortable seating position and predictable nature of the canoe. The 147 has enough storage space for 2 people and some kit, while the 160 will accomodate a family of paddlers or kit for a multi-day expedition with ease.
The PolyLink3™ 3-layer plastic hull features special chines that not only make the Guide a stiffer canoe, that is faster and more responsive in the water, but it also adds to the overall feeling of stability. This makes the Guide a great canoe for families with children. Straight sides make tandem paddling both the Guide 147 and 160 easy, while if you are looking to paddle solo, the 147 can be heeled over quite well and paddled from a kneeling position.
The Old Town Guide is best suited to calmer inland waters, lakes and canals but is more than capable of extended trips and wider adventures. This makes the Guide an ideal canoe for exploring the Norfolk Broads.
The Old Town Guide features a shallow arch hull with moderate rocker and sharp entry lines.
